Tips for Riders:

  • Gear Up: Ensure your bike is in good condition and equipped with appropriate tires for your chosen terrain.
  • Stay Hydrated: Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially on longer rides.
  • Fuel Your Ride: Pack energy-boosting snacks to keep you going throughout your journey.
  • Safety First: Wear a helmet, obey traffic laws, and ride defensively, especially on shared roads.
  • Explore Responsibly: Respect nature, wildlife, and local communities by leaving no trace and following designated trails.

Rain or Shine:

No one can predict the weather so please plan your ride accordingly with appropriate clothing, sunscreen and hydration. This event will run rain or shine. If weather conditions risk the safety of riders, we will close down the event.

Lightning Policy:

If thunder and lightning occur once activities have started, utilize the flash-to-bang method for determining the distance of lightning. Count the number of seconds between seeing the lightning and hearing the clap of thunder. If the time between flash to bang is 30 seconds or less it is time to stop the event and seek shelter. A rough rule of thumb is lightning that is closer than 10km poses a risk to participants. The formula is roughly the time between flash to bang divided by 3 equals the distance away in KM. For example, if the time from flash to bang is 30 seconds then the storm is 10 km away (30 seconds / 3 = 10km).

Road Support:

There will be on-course marshals who will leave 30 min after the suggested start time to sweep the route to ensure no rider is left behind. We will also have a vehicle with First Aid and some bike parts to provide any minor immediate medical or bike needsyoull receive phone numbers and details at registration.

However, each rider should come fully prepared to be self-sufficient for the day. That means: spare tubes, multi-tool, pump, food/fuel, weather dependent clothing, etc.

PLEASE NOTE:

Your registration does NOT include food or beverages. We encourage you to enjoy the full experience of the day by sticking around after your ride to purchase beer from 100 Acre Brewing Co., and food from Lowlands Fire Foods.

We do NOT offer transportation to/from the event, but recommend carpooling or the use of the local Y-Drive rides. Orif you’re feeling really ambitiousyou can ride your bike to the start!
